Manual installation in Chrome Developer mode

This is an optional installation path while ContinuForge is under Chrome Web Store review.

Manual installation requires Chrome Developer mode. No executable installer is downloaded or run.

Steps

  1. Download the ZIP and extract it to a permanent folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions.
  3. Enable Developer mode.
  4. Click Load unpacked.
  5. Select the extracted folder that contains manifest.json in its root.
  6. For a manual update, replace the folder contents with the new build and click Update on the extensions page.

Why Developer mode?

Chrome requires Developer mode to load an unpacked extension that has not been installed from Chrome Web Store. This manual path is optional and is described openly so the user can make an informed choice.

ContinuForge does not trigger an automatic extension download from this page.
